Welcome, and thank you for your interest in Blackfern Botanical. I'm Rory Hill, the creator of this company, inspired during the tourism downturn due to the Covid-19 lockdown. I'm fortunate to have the support of my amazing partner Sara, my father Tony, and our border collie Flow – a true enthusiast for sticks.

We're based in the beautiful and remote Franz Josef Glacier area in South Westland, New Zealand. Our property is a natural wonderland, densely populated with Mānuka plants. With our region not being particularly conducive for honey production, we decided to explore the potential of distilling essential oil. We were astonished by our oil's robust aroma and its surprising benefits in treating breakouts and burns when used diluted.

This revelation inspired us to scale up our production. We're now collaborating with some of New Zealand's leading research analysts to fully harness the potential of our Mānuka oil.
